Basic Function:
Supports the development of Hartzell-FanToolz, a web-based product configurator, Intuitive ERP, and other application software as needed within the Hartzell Family of Companies. The role would perform requirements analysis and definition, software design and development, implementation, and continued support of software applications including document preparation. |
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assumes the role of in-house programming expert for Hartzell-FanToolz and the Intuitive ERP software. This includes full life cycle application development; designing, coding, debugging, documentation, and continued maintenance of the systems.
- Coordinates, programs, maintains, and documents software integration with other software and hardware within Hartzell. This includes lumber handling, Picture Tally, Amada, and FanToolz.
- Researches current applicastion software for possible reprogramming into high-level programming language to better fit the information systems requirements within all Hartzell companies.
- Researches, develops, and maintains automation programs. This includes nightly automation, automated customer e-mails, and automated data integration.
- Evaluates and identifies new software technologies for implementation. This includes software analysis, requirements analysis, software review, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.
- Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
- Backs up/assists Sr. Systems Analyst on LAN/WAN networking infrastructure as required.
- Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being programmed, processed, stored, or accessed by the network.
- Supports IT team as needed; i.e., team projects/rollouts, hardware/software support, etc.

Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming/Computer Science or related field is required. A minimum of three years’ experience with above knowledge base to perform at a fully functioning level of proficiency.
- Strong project management skills and programming skills in Microsoft Visual Basic, .Net, SQL, XML, SGML, HTML, CSS, Java, ASP.net, and Access. Knowledge with personal computers in a Microsoft networked environment; Citrix; VMware; Cisco and Vo/IP.
- Proficient in the use of Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks as the same time.
