Job Title: Quality Inspector-Layout Technician

Basic Function:
Assists with the quality assurance program and systems designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. 1.Performs incoming material and work-in-process inspections throughout the various manufacturing departments, for quantity, dimensional, quality of workmanship and various other defects according to Hartzell and outside specifications. 
  2. Travels to Portland, Indiana plant approximately once a week to perform the same functions done in Piqua buildings 
  3. Performs random audits throughout all plants. 
  4. Perform dimensional lay-out on various products using portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM).  
  5. Understands and applies basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans. 
  6. Reads and interprets drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T). 
  7. Assists in special studies as requested.
  8. Comprehends and applies the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Machines, Tools, Equipment (Office and Industrial), Faro Arm portable measurement equipment, Software: Personal computer, popular software, computer printer, calculator, telephone, fax machine, copier, stapler, paper shredder, hand tools, and automobile
 
Knowledge: Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in quality systems. Generally accepted quality assurance techniques including documentation of procedures. Communication skills, both oral and written, organization skills, knowledge of general business procedures, planning skills, and personal computer skills.
 
Experience: 6 - 12 months to learn and perform the functions of the job at a good level of proficiency.
