Basic Function:

Assists with implementing and maintaining a quality system designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Defines quality concepts and processes, including six sigma basics and lean basics.
  2. Must be familiar with ISO 9001:2008 and understand what is required to implement an ISO-based system.
  3. Experienced with crating and maintaining controlled documents.
  4. Defines statistical techniques, including basic elements of design of experiments (DOE) and reliability. Determines what data to collect for a specific technique, how to apply it to various statistical methods and how to analyze results.
  5. Applies proper measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools as appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; understands the concept of standards traceability for M&TE.
  6. Understands and applies basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
  7. Reads and interprets blue prints (drawings), including geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T).
  8. Applies and understands various quality audit types and their components, tools and techniques.
  9. Comprehends and applies the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent quality-related experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years quality related experience.
  • A member of the ASQ preferred. Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted quality assurance techniques including documentation of procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to take lead in projects and attain results with minimal guidance.
